SubTec Explorations is a professional drilling company owned by Summit Consulting - Engineering, Architecture & Surveying, PLLC. Our in-house drilling company provides us the flexibility to respond quickly to our clients' needs. Our engineering staff keeps in close contact with our drillers to ensure that our geotechnical explorations obtain accurate and quality data. Having an in-house drilling company gives our engineering staff more control over drilling operations with the ability to quickly modify the scope of a project when unexpected soil conditions are encountered to save time and money.

Our highly trained SubTec Explorations staff is HAZWOPER trained and regularly drug tested. Our drilling employees are both courteous and responsive to your project’s needs. Our drilling staff currently holds drilling licenses in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Connecticut. Andrew Nash is the general manager of SubTec Explorations. Mr. Nash is a geotechnical engineer and has extensive experience with planning and managing large scale geotechnical investigation programs. He possesses significant knowledge of sampling techniques, drilling tooling, and equipment for both geotechnical and environmental explorations (both conventional and in-situ methods). Mr. Nash holds both his undergraduate and Master’s of Science (Geotechnical) from North Carolina State University.
At SubTec, we emphasize quality. The method and precision of obtaining the sample is as important as the sample itself. The data that is collected during drilling will influence decisions on future recommendations for construction at the site.
